CAGAYAN-BOHOL-CEBU-LEYTE-SURIGAO TRIP
(June 02-June 10, 2007)
June 03-04 – At early as 6:00 o’clock in the morning, I’m glad we’re in BOHOL. One of the places we’ve been dreaming of. Thank God for a dream comes true. God is really good and a provider. When we were still dreaming that someday we could step on at this place, because that time we don’t have enough finances, we are almost drained for our wedding expenses God works in many ways! We’re very surprised that right after the wedding, ate Cecil sponsored for our trip, and here we are in BOHOL! We stayed at Olma’s View Hotel, a good place for honeymooners for its peace and quite place. In Bohol, we valued every single time to experience the preserved beautiful creations of God. I’m glad that people in Bohol has the willingness to preserve and protect the natural resources they have. The coastal area is so clean, no garbage can be seen along the highways, everything is in order. Many Historical churches can be found, especially the Baclayon Chaurch or the Immaculate Conception parish. WE had been to Dauis church (Assumption Parish), Hinagdanan Cave, Blood Compact, tarsier sanctuary, Loboc River and Museum, Man made forest, Chocolate hills and the fine sand of Panglao Island.
Hinagdanan Cave is so amazing! Cool and clear water is present in the area. That’s why many love to swim. Spanish is so genius and so creative for they have created that place.
Tarsiers are endangered species, good to know that they are protected by the Boholanos. This specie is small in size but big in sight as they say, as we can see the eyes are so big.
The Loboc River is wonderful, the clean and green surroundings is noticeable. I don’t know If there are other rivers in the Philippines as green as the Loboc river. The ingenuity of the Boholanos that they come up with the so-called “floating restaurants”. It’s not only entertaining but they have business also without damaging the resources. From Loboc, we also noticed the Loboc church and Museum, one of the oldest churches, where the famous Loboc choir held their practice.
“Nothing is impossible” as they say, it’s true, with their manmade forests. With the will of the people, everything is possible. We can damage the resources but we can also restore.
The amazing chocolate hills. I usually called this the chocolate factory, which I only saw on textbooks and post cards when I was in grade school. Thank God for the wonderful experienced. They say that the legend of chocolate hills why it was formed like hershes is that, During ancient times, the giants were throwing each other a Mud and eventually created into hills.
Of course, the fine and white sand of Panglao Island. Wow! What a nice and scenic beach resort. Everyone loves to stay. Sayang lang because not all our poses were captured.
June 05 – Early check out in the hotel. My cousin, ate Cris, fetched us. It’s time for meeting my cousins. One of my mission in Bohol is to trace my family tree. Mission accomplished! We stayed overnight at Nanay Saring home. It’s good to meet my long lost cousins..hehehe, kami pala ang nawala because most of the Jaectin’s heirs are in Bohol.
June 06 – time for departure and prepare for a trip to cebu. At 11:45 a.m. we departed Tagbilaran, Bohol via Ocean Jet 6. It took 1 hr and 45 minutes travel before it arrived in Cebu. We’re in Cebu at almost 2:00 p.m. We stayed at Elicon House near San Carlos University. I haven’t appreciated much of Cebu. All I saw were buildings, shopping malls, very congested area and polluted. We just visited the land mark of Cebu no other than the Magellan’s Cross and the Sto. Niño Cathedral and spent much of our time left at shopping malls.
June 07 – We checked out early and left our belongings at luggage area of SM city. Spent time roaming around until 5:00 p.m. Time to go to pier 1 for a trip going to Leyte.
June 08-09 – We arrived in Maasin, Leyte at around 2:00 in the morning. People are still asleep. My baby’s relatives reside here in Leyte, particularly in San Roque, Leyte. Most of the residents here rely on the coastal resources for there everyday basic needs. We took a rest till 11:00 am, then started to visit his relatives. The following day, the exciting day! We went to Tangkaan, Padre Burgos, Leyte Resort, a government owned resort, fronting Limasawa Island where Magellan’s Cross had been built or put up. P 5.00 is only the entrance fee then we have the opportunity to enjoy the clear water and white sand resort. Small fishes can be seen clearly, swimming along with us. We had enjoyed taking pictures with gigantic rocks with a rare curves formed by waves. Nature has really it’s own way for beautification. Amazing work of nature. We went back home at 3 pm. The day is over. We took a rest and prepared for a long trip the following day. Back to where we came from. Davao City!
June 10 – We took a trip at 4:00 a.m. from San Roque going to Lipata, then another ride from Sugod to Liloan. We need to catch up the 6 am ferry trip going to Lipata, Surigao. A funny experienced because we were almost left by the ferryboat. By 10 am we’re in Lipata. Another ride via Tricyle going to Surigao City Bus terminal. Again from Surigao City we took another ride by Bus going to Butuan and transfer Bus from Butuan City to Davao City. We did a long long trip and so many cutting trips. We opted to take this trip. By 10 pm, we were finally home. Our home sweet home. What a wonderful experienced!
God really rewards all our petitions and He deserves to be acknowledged for all the blessings we received, even the smiles shared to us by people we met. Lord, I praise and glorify your name. I praise and thank you for everything that I have, like having a husband who loves me so dearly, an intact family, friends and all the material things you have allowed me to use while I’m here on earth. Thank you Lord.

You came to my blog. Anyway, new to blogging..... it becomes very fun. Still, I see you visited Cagayan de Oro, and that was where I was just a fgew months ago. Beautiful country.... I hope I return someday.
